The Ultimate Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie
This ultimate skillet chocolate chip cookie is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever! It is so simple and straightforward, and takes just minutes to make. It has undergone extensive tweaking and perfecting, plus there are no lengthy chilling, scooping, or rolling out steps. The end result? One giant soft and chewy cookie that both adults and kids love!
ABOUT THIS RECIPE:
- Use room temperature butter. Using too warm or cold butter will not result in the perfectly flat, and soft textured cookie.
- Bake in an any oven-safe pan. This recipe uses a 14-inch cast iron skillet, but you can use any oven safe skillet, although it won’t have the same crispy on the edge effect as an iron skillet does. Alternately, oven-safe pans, small ramekins, or mini skillets can be used. Reduce the baking time, accordingly.
- You can vary the chocolate chips. Feel free to substitute with white chocolate chips or mix up the chips with some milk chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips to your liking. Even chocolate chunks or mini peanut butter cups will work!
- Do NOT over-bake! The cookie will continue to cook in the hot skillet after you take it out of the oven.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream. The addition of a few scoops of vanilla ice cream in the center just makes this dessert that much more heavenly! You may never go back to plain chocolate chip cookies ever again!
